CarryOM is currently accepting applications for new teachers to join our team. We are always looking for teachers willing to give of their time, so please apply if you are interested.
If you have a passion for service and some spare time on your hands, come be a part of our community! Teachers do not have to be currently registered, but they must be able to show proof of graduation from a Yoga Alliance-approved RYS-200 or RYS-500 teacher training. CarryOM teachers must live within Travis County and have reliable transportation to and from their service sites.
CarryOM welcomes teachers from any branch of the yoga family, but you should be comfortable adhering to the CarryOM teaching philosophy, which is centered around respect for the individual student’s learning experience and his or her current place on life’s path. Teachers who come from highly disciplined branches of yoga should be willing to cater their teaching style to the various needs of the populations we serve.
CarryOM teachers volunteer their time and skills; there is no remuneration for this work. Teachers are expected to make a commitment to teach a minimum of two classes per month for 3 months. Regular reviews are conducted after a teacher’s fourth class and at the 6-month mark of service. Specialized trainings are offered for teachers working with at-risk populations. Monthly teachers’ meetings are held to provide a safe space for teachers to discuss their experiences, seek guidance and support from others, and create community.
Once you’ve submitted the application below, a CarryOM team member will contact you to answer any initial questions you may have, and to set up an interview.
